Repair
and restoration require different techniques. For many clocks,
timepieces and other instruments, a well executed repair is an
appropriate and cost effective option but for valuable or rare pieces,
more considered restoration is required, whereby as much of the original
movement as possible is retained.
In
my workshop I can handle all manner of mechanical devices; Longcase
clocks - often called Grandfather clocks, Carriage clocks, wall and mantel
clocks, Vienna regulators, Bracket clocks, barographs and aneroid barometers but not mercury barometers. I can also supply and fit new, high quality quartz movements to most quartz clocks.
I regret I do not service 400 day clocks - commonly called anniversary clocks - cuckoo clocks or any type of watch.
